Tejas + Khyati = Tejati
This wedding was visually stunning. We adore Hindu weddings – not only for the colors but because family is SO important
in these ceremonies. Everyone is happy, smiling, dancing, and totally focused on the bride and groom. A far cry from
a church with 10,000 cell phones in the air – the guests at these weddings tend to be much more involved and present.
The day started with the Baraat – Tejas’ friends and family dancing and ushering him to greet Khyati’s family. Once he had
completed the Vara Satkaarah he was allowed inside and they exchanged garlands as a token of affection. The way these two
look at each other is just heart-melting. You can see how much they love each other in every glance. The remainder of the
ceremony was chalk full of traditions and rituals – gift giving, food feeding, shoe stealing, toe grabbing, advice whispering,
knot tying, circles around the fire followed by a race to sit (to see who “wears the pants” in the marriage) and so much more.
The ending was the best part of the day filled with blessings and tears. It was such an amazing experience to witness – we LOVE our job!
We had so much fun spending the day with you two – we wish you the best life has to offer and a bajillion years of happiness.
Also – stay tuned tomorrow for their post-wedding portrait session! The day was so full of events we had to make it 2 blog posts!
